Goose is the dark ambient project of Brett Lunceford. Although some of my earlier works as Stolen Light and Xenophon delved into more sedate material, I quickly realized that the only band that can get away with having everything under the same moniker is Controlled Bleeding. In the interest of keeping the various styles separate, I created Goose.

Here you will find information on this project, with a full discography, information on live actions, and links to those who have somehow crossed paths with Goose in one way or another.

Goose has been busy this year with some compilation tracks. First off, there is the track "Christmas Morning," as part of this year's Zaftig Research holiday compilation, Peace, Love, Joy. You can get this from Zaftig Research at http://zaftigresearch.com/. This is mainly field recordings of last Christmas morning with my family.

Another track was contributed to this year's Homework compilation from the excellent Belgian label taĆ¢lem. This is the fifth year that they have done this compilation series, and this year's Goose contribution is called "Arbor Day." This track was constructed entirely of processed field recordings of a work crew chainsawing trees and running a wood chipper outside of my apartment. You can hear this track at https://taalem.bandcamp.com/track/arbor-day. While you're there, check out the rest of the compilation. There are some amazing artists on board, and I am happy to be a part of it again this year.

James Keeler, better known as Wilt, threw out the idea of skate noise and decided to put together a compilation. I rode (badly) back in the day, so it was hard to resist. Goose did "Do a Kickflip (Featuring Tony Hawk)." You can check it out at https://orco.bandcamp.com/album/concrete-jungle-an-or-co-skatenoise-compilation-vol-1. While you're there, you can also check out two from my other projects. Stolen Light did "Skate or Die" (bonus points if you recognize the video game sample) and Orange did a power electronics cover of perhaps the greatest skate song ever: "Possessed to Skate" by Suicidal Tendencies.

Zaftig Research is down to the last few copies of the most recent 3" CDR from Goose, "Going to Hell Friday at Penn State." When I was teaching at Penn State, I used to take my students in my Public Speaking course to watch a street preacher named Gary Cattell, otherwise known as the "Willard Preacher," because of his constant presence in front of Willard Hall (I even managed to publish an article about this teaching strategy in the journal Explorations in Media Ecology, which you can read here). I would often record these sessions, and I decided that his sermons would make an interesting complement to my music. If you're in Pennsylvania, you may be able to get a copy from Gary himself!

I have a few upcoming projects in the works for Goose, so stay tuned.
